I like my software simple. If it is too complex or difficult to understand, I do not use.

For example, I tried a lot of different programs for creating on my web pages. These include:

• Namo WebEditor
• Microsoft Frontpage
• Dreamweaver
• NetObjects Fusion
• Hotdog Pro
• CoffeeCup HTML Editor

and a variety of other commercial, shareware and freeware editors. Every time I tried one of these, it seemed too complicated. What are all these panels "for? How I see the underlying HTML of my page? What is a "Network"? How I can start to use this package? I could not get answers to my questions with ease.

Now my hard disk are out by the growing number of HTML editors that I got from download.com and then abandoned.

A few years ago, I discovered EditPlus. It is a popular editor simple and easy to use. However, it also has plenty of sophistication if you need it.

You can use EditPlus both as a text editor and as a HTML editor. This ingenious piece of software has an internal preview capability so you can get a quick search through the HTML code. It also has a spelling checker, word wrap, and a word counter. It even includes FTP functions so you can upload your web pages to your server farm.

I wrote this article, formatted for publication, added HTML code and posted it on my website with EditPlus.

So far, I have not read a manual for EditPlus and do not feel I need because the program is so intuitively easy to use.

I admit that you need to learn some HTML if you want create and edit your web pages with EditPlus. But I get nervous when I try to create a web page with one of these design packages in the HTML source code is hidden sight.

I keep going back to EditPlus after judge other complicated web design programs.
