I recently received a brochure in the mail warning me for identity theft and reminded me that it always important to do, what is needed to my good name to protect. If you get the mountains of junk mail (that I) the credit card applications that you know exactly what I have to tell would include. How someone can be very RAID your trash can easily search for these applications (and apply for a credit card in your name), thieves have ways of lifting your identity Web sites when you shop online. When you consider how much online shopping will take place in those days a veritable smorgasbord, that's for stealing!

You can Terms such as 128-bit encryption have heard, SSL Certificates or Secure Socket Layer in the form of on-line protection against fraud, but what these terms mean exactly?

Wikipedia defines a SSL (Secure Socket Layer) as … "A cryptographic protocol that provides secure communications on the Internet for such things as web browsing, E-mail, Internet fax, instant messaging and other data transfers. "

Simply put, the SSL protocol allows applications to communicate over the Internet develops in a manner to prevent eavesdropping, tampering and message forgery. This leads to safe purchase for your customers.

A SSL Certificate is an electronic passport, an online business credentials firmly. It allows your Web browser to a secure (encrypted set up) connection. You will know whether the site to visit is the sure, if you see the padlock icon in the browser status bar. You will also notice that the website address with "https" start instead of "http."

What does an SSL certificate included?

* The certificate holder name (individual or company).

* The certificate serial number and expiration date.

* A copy of the certificate holder's public key.

* The digital signature the certificate-issuing authority.

How do you know if your site has a SSL certificate Needs?

This question comes together a lot, so I a short list of questions that you yourself (ask about your site) to determine whether you have taken to process your online transactions.

1st Do you need to collect online by credit card or personally sensitive information from your customers?

If the answer is yes, you must check, that the information you collect is protected. When the merchant, you are responsible for the protection of your personal data of customers when they shop with you. Thereby They are also to protect yourself from anyone who would knowingly intercept this information.

If you collect with a shopping cart and your customers define information, whether you are:

  • Storing credit card information in your shopping cart to process (online or manual),
  • Passing the transaction to a 3rd-party (PayPal, 2checkout.com) for processing,
  • Passing the transaction through authorize.net gateway with an Internet Merchant Account, Verisign or received another popular gateway.

2nd Are you off-processing or manual?

Offline or manual Processing as a collection of your best customers sensitive information online and then keying that information in one physical or virtual "point of sale machine or a program to describe the transaction process. The POS machine could be in your office (physical) or online (virtual).

When you do this, your shopping cart most likely to apply, and then storing this information to work within it for you, with a later date. If so, then you need a SSL certificate installed on your site to be sure that your customers are protected from eavesdropping when they enter sensitive information requested from your site.

3rd Are you a 3rd party payment processor?

Examples of 3rd party processors are PayPal and 2Checkout.com. If you are a 3rd-party service like PayPal 2checkout.com or standard, usually the customer is on the 3rd party website to complete your purchase transaction, and enter any sensitive information to be transmitted.

Although you have an account with PayPal or 2checkout.com, you are allowing them the transaction through their bank process on your behalf. In others, your relationship So with PayPal and not with the bank. In these cases, you will probably not need to make an SSL, because the 3rd party website closing purchase an installed already have.

* It is important to note that PayPal account offers various types, some of which can be configured to locally in the background and process on Your site can be executed. Always check what type of account if you need to make decisions about the security of your website.

4th Do you have an Internet Merchant Account?

If you have an Internet merchant account with a bank an SSL certificate installed on your site need. That's because the customers buy, without your site is completed. In essence, the transaction will be handled "in house" on your site, and the responsibility to protect their information comes to you.

Just to be clear, PayPal accounts are not as Internet Merchant Accounts. This is because your relationship in this Situation is with PayPal and not directly with an Internet Merchant (Bank), processing your transaction is processed.

If you answered "yes" the Questions will be 2 or 4, you definitely need an SSL Certificate for your website.

Where can I get a SSL Certificate?

Typical of the company, the hosting of your website, you can purchase and install an SSL certificate. Start by selecting your web host and ask if they can help you. You can also Search the Internet under terms such as "SSL certificate" or "buy an SSL certificate."

Instead of receiving advice on how to have a web site that works well, you need to know some basic rules to follow to foster a well-visited website. What if your website works? Break any of these rules, and you have people who want to make a break for the exit.

1) Do not use any 'Splash' pages before your home page …. ever.

Splash pages have an appropriate place. If you have to make potential users out of a site that may have objectionable content or things not suitable for minors, and then do the legal and ethical and warn. Apart from that, if you have a page which reads: "Welcome!" or "Click here to enter," you're wasting your time visitor, who do not meet your needs. If you have an inordinate need for a welcome page like a drum roll or opening flower, it risks looking as if he had an exaggerated idea of his own importance.

2) Avoid excessive use of ads that scream, "I need the money!"

Many people have developed "ad blindness", which simply means recognizing the banner ads without interacting with them. Seen in other parts of the page or go to another site on the Internet. Too many banner ads of any size is desperate and aggressive. Each press of readers, resist and go. Create useful and interesting content with the same theme as your ads, and provides a place for visitors to buy if they wish, without pressure on them.

3) Create the navigation so simple that a child can use it.

If your navigation is not seen as navigation or for worse, you need an explanation, you're wasting your time visitors. Avoid Flash and animated navigation navigation like the plague. If you feel the need to be cute and entertain visitors with navigation, you will confuse or irritate them, and visitors will not be long.

4) Always tell your visitors where they are in place.

If you are showing well-written and absorbing content that visitors really get into, remember that over time will have to remember where on your site. Title your pages specifically for the descriptive title appears both on the top bar browser and on top of the page. Use shipping routes, as Hansel and Gretel can go home. Provide navigation on each page to page start-pages and most importantly, visited. If you leave the visitors on a page, it will return the favor.

5) Do not use the files audio and cute tricks.

You probably do not need more music tracks or sound effects loop and at the bottom, right? Well, if you really have to have to feel good about yourself, give the visitor control over the page with a well marked, obvious system of controls. Are your navigation buttons are noises when the cursor rolls over them? What level of discomfort were subjected to? Remember that navigation is navigation, animation is animation and the sound is the sound. Mp3 sites or gaming sites, audio and music is a critical part. To read the text of your link, not really.

website buttons design

1 – Start Simple. Put your great content on the page first and work your way from there. Once your pictures and videos you'll find that the design of work suddenly begins to flow from there. It is always easier to create something from something, and not as something out of nothing.

2 – Fear not wrong go. You can always delete what you do not like. Write down ideas as they come to share, move, discover elements on the screen and the Ctrl-Z is a mistake. It is much more likely you are to find a good idea as you as work by sitting still and silent in front of the screen. All the greats do, improvise. You do not, show it to anyone. Let yourself write down at least 10 stupid ideas. I am ready to share at least one of them moves with you on the next part of the web design process.

3 – Make the world. Use your eyes and ears and absorb as much as you can. You never know when that will take genius. You can do something completely irrelevant. I can not tell you exactly what to do to find inspiration, but I can tell you that it is important to emphasize never done the trick for me. However, you can Browse through other websites from the same field as you, or simply Web pages that have piqued your interest and inspiration. Imitation is indeed the highest form of flattery. Someday you will, you can create your own designs as a source of inspiration.

4 – Do not Fall In Love Too Fast. How often have you found yourself pouring your whole Soul into the design of something as small as a button? Designers tend to be attached to their creations, and sometimes they lose objectivity. When people talk around you That you invested your soul in just the key is taken out of context or inappropriate for this site, you might want to listen to them. I am not very encouraging peer pressure, but you must remember that t the end of the day, the new website for anyone but you. If anything, most of your potential visitors the site in the wrong direction rubs, may be a good idea to let them go.

5 – for people's opinions, ask – which is observed mainly on the same You as the previous point. Ultimately, the site can best serve you by attractive and accessible to as many people as possible. Even if you're an artist and you have your own independent style, I would recommend you to their artistic independence at home when the task of adapting one of our free Website Templates.

6 – Keep Learning – If you are the tenth site I think is the best time for consideration of item number three to take to visit a museum or a Football game. Tape not see the same clichà © What was revolutionary and excellent first time it will not stay on the fifth imitation. Just think of "The Sixth Sense "movie. Now that was truly original and exciting when I first saw, and now they come out with a new rip-off of the movie every few months. I do not know even bother to see them more. Do not allow your site to remain a cheap imitation of a horror film, original and remain fresh. Once again, it is better to something think of terrible once in a while, as long as you know that you continue a process of development and growth.

7 – Have Fun! If you enjoy not working in web design, find someone who does. Nobody is always very well what they do not expect to hate, so the fact that the exception. What do you want? Select a template and work!
