dreamweaver won’t connect to ftp

July 26th, 2010

Every website is a set of files on your computer. Hopefully, each Web site is in its own folder! For Dreamweaver to track your links and upload to the correct place on the server, you have to tell Dreamweaver about each site and the server. This is called site or Manage Edit sites, depending on the version Dreamweaver you are using. Keeping track of their sites in the panel group files.

To manage your sites, click the dropdown menu and select Manage Sites and edit websites (depending on your version.) This should bring up the Manage Sites dialog box. The first time working with the site, choose New. For each site you work will also have a list box. Later, if you want to change something, you can choose the site and then click Modify.

This leads to a larger dialog box with many options so you can tell Dreamweaver that we want to do with your site. For small web sites, two elements principal to establish 1) Dreamweaver connection for your web files (Local Information), 2) Connecting Dreamweaver to your space on the server (remote data.) Choose the content you want in the category box. If the window does not look like this, you can be on the Basic tab instead of the Advanced tab. This lesson will use the tab Advanced.

1. Local Information We do. The dialogue is opened there unless the Basic tab is up. Make sure you are Advanced tab.

2. name of your site. A good name would be the name of the web folder that has the files in. If you do not have a folder created for files on your site, go ahead and do it.

3. Click the little folder icon and select the folder you've set to keep your web files. This step will tells Dreamweaver where the folder is on your computer and the folder is called.

4. Now let's tell Dreamweaver you have to do to connect to your server. Click Remote Info category.

5. The rest of the boxes will not be on the screen until you select FTP access. If you are on a site for an organization with their own web servers on the site, the network administrator can give you a different way to configure your Remote Info. Otherwise, select FTP.

6. The computer or the network that hosts your web site has a name. Some systems are configured to use your domain name. In any case, you must get this information your web host.

why won’t dreamweaver open

July 23rd, 2010

Dreamweaver Why not let me add pictures to "active"?

When I try to drag and drop images in the section assets, I get a message that Dreamweaver does not know how to open png or jpeg files and I use one, other supported file xml or html. I had the opportunity to add JPEG and PNG files, the other day by dropping and dragging the same way I tried today and it worked then, why does not it work now?

Try again to install it.
