Dreamweaver is a popular web design software. With this tool you can make almost any size or style website. Once you get in and learn to use this tool, you'll soon be doing great websites that everyone loves.

The first thing to do is simple. You need to define your site. This simply tells the program to store all the files that are used to your new site. It even has a built in FTP program to transfer all the files on your computer in the right live web server. It also lets you select a programming language and database possible.

The first thing is presented with a dialog box simple guide you through the installation. This is the basic version, there is also an advanced version where you can change things a little more.

The tour asked what he would like the site is called. You can pick anything you want, but it's a good idea to maintain relevance with the contents of your site.

You are then presented with a question that asks if you want to use a server technology. These server languages can help transform your site a static entity to a database-driven power. If not use a database and then choose not.

Then ask him where want to store files locally on your computer. The choice is yours. He also asked how he would like to work with your files. I suggest choosing Edit Copy your local machine and then transfer to the server via FTP. This way you have more than one copy of your files.

Then you are asked how you want to connect to your web server. FTP is the most common. When you choose FTP is then need to complete some data.

What is the hostname or FTP address? This is usually your web address.

What folder on the server does not wish to store the files? I left blank unless you need to put all files in a specific folder.

What is your FTP username? This must be provided to you by your web host.

What is your FTP password? This must be provided to you by your web host.

If everything looks good the connection test, click! If you entered all the options, then you should be! Now start building your web empire!

dreamweaver repeating table

How to successfully pass a variable from MySQL to "update page" History "with PHP in Dreamweaver?

I making a database of e-for the class. Each table has a page with the list (which shows all the data in the table), and insert page, a page update, and delete the page so you can add, delete and modify records. I passed a variable to the delete page, using the Wizard for the Suppression of Dreamweaver, eliminates fine when I add? id = # at the end of the URL (using the PHP variable to indicate the row), but when I try to do the same update my page, nothing happens. I'm always stuck with the first record of my table. I know I can repeat my area and get them all, but I want to spend the variable over the link URL to be I choose, I can update that record alone. (Sorry if it sounds like a n00b. This is a kind of MySQL and PHP do not really learn outside the use of assistants and the addition of a variable for the end of a link URL.)

Dreamweaver can not code properly for MySQL. The Wizards can not even correctly understanding the MySQL command. DW does not not respect the correct syntax. You will need to edit the commands by hand. Examples: $ sql = "insert into TableName` `(` field1 `,` field2 `) VALUES ( '". $ Value1. "' Value '". $ Value2. "')"; $ Sql = " delete from `TableName` where `field1` = ' ". $." ' ", $ Sql =" UPDATE `TableName` su `field1` =' ". $ Value1. " ',` Field2 `='". $ Value2. " ', Where` field3 `='". $ Value3. " '"; (Adde space for greater clarity, pay attention to investing in single quotes, single quotes and double quotes) PS: It will take less time to learn to learn Php and MySQL Dreamweaver, then learn to correct the mistakes it does!

web design navigation bar

web design navigation bar

There are some very good free WordPress themes out there. However, in my experience, support and ease of use that come with premium WordPress themes is worth the cost.

Why did I start studying, and ultimately purchase premium WordPress themes? Because in the end I favored the amendment, without complications, style polished, and support forums.

The following are guidelines for buying a premium WordPress theme.

1. What license is buying?

I will not buy an item that restricts the amount of websites and blogs that I create – whether for my own use or for use by the customer for the cost of time purchase. I do not require restrictions on the use of an item you purchase. What I need is therefore primarily a developer license.

2. Question criticism: Is it hard to modify the WordPress theme?

Find out if you need to know HTML, CSS, and / or PHP to adapt the theme? To Many WordPress themes, the answer is no. Tread carefully before buying because some issues require that you know CSS and / or PHP, to establish and build your website.

3. W3 is the subject of code compatible with

Many of free WordPress themes are poorly coded. You probably can not distinguish good from bad code unless you know coding yourself. That's another reason to buy an item from a seller's premium WordPress theme decent.

Make sure the test that the application of item (s) you are purchasing is the code of W3 compliant. W3 is the World Wide Web Consortium develops standards web.

4. The following are some details to decide if you need to design your site:

  • Does the theme of the pull?
  • Does the issue of giving the option from the list of categories in top navigation bar?
  • How many columns? How many columns do you want?
  • Do you like the typeface (font, font size, font color (s), etc)?
  • Normally, images, videos and slide shows shown in the example of the items are not included. Therefore, if you want a similar look and feel, you have to add your own images, videos and slides. Assess the issue of details to know how easy it is to add images, videos, and / or slide shows.
  • Automatic thumbnail size is a very nice feature if you like a lot of pictures on his blog. Many issues of self-management of supply premium miniature size. I recommend getting this feature because you may want to use. That said, if you find the perfect theme everything else, do not do automated miniature size a deal-breaker.

5. It is the theme widget ready?

Widgets significantly improve the functionality of a WordPress website and customization options. This means you definitely need a theme that is "ready for widgets." "Usually widgets", the theme is developed instantaneously accommodate widgets. I would not buy an item that is not widget ready.

6. What does it mean to modify the header and / or logo?

Using your own header and logo is a fundamental way of customizing your website and blog. Therefore, the ease with which you can change the header and / or logo is important.

Some of the topics basically let you upload your own header options panel. Other issues that need to load your head through your hosting service. It is easier and faster through an options panel, however, in no way prejudices to become familiar with uploading files through your domain host.

7. Can you change the schema color in the options panel?

When buying an item, if the color is important to you, do a demo and see if you like the color options available. Note, some of the priority areas have many varieties of color, while other topics are "what you see is what you get."

8. Sure seen in the type and quality of support provided with a full cart

I prefer theme developers that come with the support of the forum and the option to contract to an experienced programmer to help me if I need specialist help.

To date, all the help I needed I got from Support Forum. Forum very moderate, it is essential, is a great feature support. Just make sure that the theme developer has high moderators answer questions.

9. It will be the subject matter "as is" to serve their needs?

Buying a WordPress theme is all about saving time – time construction of its own subject and the time of the review of free themes. This means that it makes more sense to buy an item that requires minor modifications.

That said, if you find an item that meets most of your needs, not spend two days trying to find the perfect theme. Often, "sufficiently good "is good enough.

10. The cost of the premium WordPress themes

First, no matter the subject you purchase, will be much less expensive than hiring a web developer. The right of the doors that lie ahead. That said, expect to pay between $ 10 to $ 130, and perhaps more for a topic.

There are three pricing models: single purchase, the purchase on the subject, and the club membership (ie, the subscription model).

Buying only gives license for a single item. Note that you can use only once or you can use as you wish on as many websites as you like. Always I want the unlimited use license.

The all-purchase item gives you full access to all the themes developed by the developer that particular topic.

Membership a club is a form of model access to all issues, but requires that you pay a recurring cost in order to maintain access to new areas and support the forum.

I commonly purchase a single issue and if I like it, upgrade to the purchase of an item of all. I avoid the course (subscription) purchase model, because I do not care for blocking a cost permanent.

Building websites and blogs with themes of the premium is a cost effective way to get great looking and high functioning sites.

Check out in-depth reviews of iThemes Builder premium WordPress theme and StudioPress Corporate Premium WordPress theme for two examples of excellent premium WordPress themes that I use. Builder theme is extremely customizable; Corporate theme is a very slick-looking theme ready for any small business website.

dreamweaver replace regular expression

January 31st, 2010

One of the things that scare people away from building a website is the potential cost. Many people ask me what is the average cost of a website and it is a question difficult to answer because there really is no average cost. The cost of a website depends on what type of website you want, if you're going to hire a web designer, and what kind of features you want. You can easily spend thousands of dollars to have a website built.

But there are some ways you can have a site Site built for $ 100 or less … if you know how to economize. Here are some tips on saving money on your website.

1. Do your research – The basic components of a website is your domain name, hosting, and web design. If you are going to sell from your website, you also have to look a shopping cart, merchant account, and possibly a secure server. When you are looking at these components, be sure to do your homework. Many people stay with a service is expensive, it is the first crossing, unaware that there might be better options. The "agreements" you get from your domain registrar or web hosting company might not actually be the best available.

Ask for recommendations from people who already have a website. If you're hiring a designer web, have recommendations on accommodation and other services. In many cases, are familiar with the different services and can provide an idea of what things should cost. And do not forget to do your own research by typing "web hosting" and "shopping carts" into a search engine and get a price range.

2. Stick with simple, uncomplicated websites – A lot of small business websites do not need a lot of things animate flashy and complicated programming. Flash animation and websites more expensive to build and maintain, since it takes a web designer to build and update. And a Flash website could end up being counterproductive as it may still be bad for search engine rankings and many people understand and annoying.

3. Build some of the same site – Learn some basic HTML and invest in a web development program. You can then buy a pre-made template Webpage or hire a web designer to create a template and use it to build the website itself. Yes, it will take a little time and effort to learn, but is less expensive to buy a pre-made template or have a web designer to design a template of what it will take to build the entire site web.

4. Keep the website yourself – Instead of having a web designer or webmaster to maintain your site, purchase of a development program web as Dreamweaver or Expression Web and have them train on how to maintain your website yourself. Even if you do not build your website, you can learn enough about So you do not have to chase a web designer to make minor changes to your site.

5. Consider using WordPress as a platform for your website – Wordpress blogging software is flexible enough to be used as both a blog and a website. Once installed, you can easily change the design, add new features, and create new pages without having to learn how to design a website. Some web hosting companies have a role installation easy to make a base implementation of WordPress with a few steps. It only takes a little more of the settings to turn off the feature and make WordPress blog look like a website regularly. You can literally have a Wordpress website created in less than half an hour and if you do the work yourself, you can do it for free!
