xml dreamweaver tutorial
I am a print designer looking to get into Web design. Do you need professional advice on what to see first and what not?

I print designer looking to get into web design. Im trying to teach myself with online tutorials (lynda.com). I was looking for someone to help establish a program in which the languages they should learn and in what order. In what order should I learn these (which are also unnecessary / obsolete): HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, Javascript, Actionscript, and any others that I left feeling they are important. I know the basics of Dreamweaver and Flash, but realize they need go back and learn the above. I'm looking to learn to improve my skills in ActionScript programming. Thanks in advance for any advice.

In order: Start with HTML / XHTML. Make sure you can structure a page properly, try using the marking little as possible and without any tools, except a text editor. Once I know that inside / outside, start with CSS. Realize that the web design and print media are very different, and accept the fact that nothing will appear identical in all browsers. Learn the characteristics of popular browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari / Webkit be the main market leaders). Then do the same with javascript – learn inside / outside. XML is useful for things AJAX, and RSS. Knowing a bit about JSON is very useful too. ActionScript / Flash, not necessary. It can also be good to search popular javascript library jQuery, Dojo, Prototype, or YUI. Many javascript more expressive than plain ol ', and are used fairly. Basically start simple, do not try to create full-fledged, full of interactive sites widget from the get-go. Concentrate on getting a solid understanding every aspect first. Most importantly, have fun! Useful sites: http://www.w3schools.com/ http://www.alistapart.com/ http://www.smashingmagazine.com/ http: / / jquery.com / http://nettuts.com/

If you are a web designer or web developer or looking to become one, there is a set of skills you need to understand to become good. Here are some information about the ability, where learning, training, materials and uses for a web designer or developer.

1) HTML

This is the most important thing to learn. HTML displays important works easier and useful for their designs will be more effective. Compared with an editor WYSIWYG HTML editors are most effective. Even web designers who do not plan to do much work outside of an HTML WYSIWYG editor must learn to know the basis of their Web pages.

2) CSS

Made with HTML, the most important web designer can learn is the CSS. CSS controls and determines how will see the page. It would be dangerous to make cutting edge websites without learning CSS.

5) PHP, ASP, Java, Perl or C + +

Website programming starts w / the language you use. There is many options but some are more popular. PHP is the leader with ease. The web designer who know the programming language will remain employed, more than a web developer who knows nothing.

web design awards 2008

The websites are the support of all electronic commerce activities and the Holy Grail of web design is not a site that wins awards at a design conference, but it is a website that sells and sells well. No matter what you're selling, whether it is a product or a service or information, the point is that it should sell well. That's what all commercial websites are concerned, and that is exactly what you should aim for when planning a site for their business activities online.

While one should not misunderstand the meaning of a good website. It makes it essentially means making flashy players that seem cool and serve no purpose except for wasting bandwidth. The idea should be to get the right customer response either to carry out sales or generating leads.

Easier Said and done. Although it is easy to explain what is sold online, but is much more difficult to achieve. The designer does not have to be an artist, but must be able to keep a visitor engrossed and involved with the site so you can become a potential customer. The World Wide Web is a place where illusion is everything. A good website is one in where you can make a visitor involved with the site, making it click, to read and participate.

As such, its design must be simple, but interesting and not boring. It should be interactive and easy to use. And more importantly, they must guide a visitor to a target which is usually a sale.

The most striking example from a simple website is to Google. The home page of this site is perhaps the simplest and fastest loading page on the web. However, it is one of the most user-friendly Web sites. Another good example is e-bay, which is definitely a bit more complex, but navigation through the site is really easy. The launch of this site is really good and there is hardly a visitor who does not know how to use this site. Most surprising is that it combines all the elements of success an e-commerce site. The website not only is simple and tidy, but it is also selling well.

The idea is to get visitors involved and interact with the site, giving the desired information or the sale of a product in the process. The whole process of sale is done through the design elements web. This is not an easy task and is usually done through teamwork between the designer, editor and back-end programmer.

Moreover, the designers deal with trying to develop innovative ways of increasing site conversions that results in more satisfied customers who are returning for more and also get your friends and colleagues.
